The Carbon County Library has a busy October planned for the Encampment Library branch beginning Wednesday with Out of This World Reads. The Encampment Library is calling all stellar readers to enjoy a space-themed BookQuest. Crafts, games, origami and snacks will be part the event from 4-5 p.m.

Hix as he explains and shares his insights into the beginning of "Ley Lines" as it originated from two blogs, and how it grew to book and museum exhibition.

The Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Education Center’s annual trek will be covering the east side of the county on Sunday.
The trek begins at 8 a.m., in Baggs at the Cowboy parking lot.
The first stop on the trek is the Little Snake River Museum in Savery. There, the attendees will learn about ditch companies that have been or are presently serving the Little Snake River Valley.

Sam Platts, formerly of Saratoga, will make a homecoming on Friday at the Saratoga Resort and Spa.
Platts' band, Sam Platts and the Kootenai Three, are currently in the process of recording a new album which should be out in the next year. "We'll be playing some new stuff," Platts said of his concert.
