Keen on Keno

Scott and Michelle McIlvane, owners of the Lazy River Cantina, are excited to be one of two places offering an opportunity to play keno, which debuted October 6.
Keno is a lottery-like gambling game often played at casinos, bars, convenience stores and venues that offer some form of legalized gambling. It can also be provided as a game in some state lotteries.

Prepping for the Holiday Season

Community Choirs in both Saratoga and Encampment are preparing for the upcoming holiday season.
The Saratoga Community Choir will have their Christmas Concert performance on December 11 at 4 p.m. at the Platte Valley Community Center Theater. Smoked pulled pork on a bun at October 3, 'Gather at the Table'

Smoked pulled pork on a bun with choice of BBQ sauce, plus all the trimmings, will be featured as everyone is invited to “Gathers at the Table” Monday, Oct. 3rd, between 4:00 and 6:30 p.m. in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, corner of 3rd & Bridge Sts.

Spirits abound at Oktoberfest

The weather could not have been any more beautiful for the Saratoga Hot Springs Resort and Spa for their 9th annual Oktoberfest. Although beer was the dominant beverage being served, there were several distilleries showing off their products.
Brush Creek Distillery featured their vodka, gin and bourbon with samples for attendees. The distillery also had their newly launched product for tasting, Railroad Rye.

Art in the Valley

As promised, this is the second in the series covering artists work on display in the Upper North Platte Valley. Many of these pieces have been in place for several years, others are new this year.
While researching art in the Valley, Tim Niklas, Director of the Grand Encampment Museum, said that two very famous artists grew up in Saratoga.

26th Annual Copper Days Chug and Tug Tractor Pull

The 26th Annual Chug and Tug Tractor pull started off with a parade tractors. They huffed and puffed up McCaffrey Avenue to the post office, turned around and came back down. Many tractor fans lined the highway to take pictures and kiddos clambered for candy being tossed to them.
