Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
All of my life — I have loved puzzles. Puzzles of all kinds — jigsaw puzzles, math puzzles, video game puzzles, New York Times crosswords and mystery novels. I like to solve things and find tidy solutions. I think as I am aging — keeping my mind engaged in finding the answer becomes more important. My start in education began in engineering finding solutions to complicated math and science problems. I furthered my drive for solving puzzles with new situations arising every sortie I piloted in the Air Force. My career evolved after marriage to bookkeeping and chasing that elusive penny when balancing the books. I am still bookkeeping for the family business, but now I find myself in a new additional puzzling adventure. I do not have a background in journalism. The closest thing to editing I have done is proofreading AP level papers during my children’s high school education. I am looking forward to putting the paper together weekly and fitting in the pieces of our stories. I equate this juggling game as an old school game of Tetris. The clock is the enemy and all of the varying sizes and shapes of articles and advertising must fit before the time runs out. I am happy to solicit story ideas and receive comments to keep the paper evolving for the community. Onward in this new adventure and happy puzzling to you all.
