Who's the best?

With a combined population of 2,265, the Platte Valley is less than a quarter in size of some of the more metropolitan areas in Wyoming like Laramie, Casper and Cheyenne.

Despite the small size of our combined community, we have some wonderful amenities. The secret is out about our Valley, seeing as we are busy year-round anymore whether it’s Saratoga Days or Skijoring, Woodchopper’s Jamboree or the 307 GoFast On Ice. Saratoga, and the Platte Valley, continue to grow year-after-year.

Residents have their choice in banking, in real estate, in shopping, in dining and in drinking. Indeed, the Platte Valley has a spoil of riches when it comes to our options.

So, with all that in mind, the Saratoga Sun is proud to announce our inaugural “Best of the Valley” contest.

Here’s how it will work. Each week in the month of December, there will be a full page ballot for the Best of the Valley in the Saratoga Sun. This ballot includes a total of 27 different categories ranging from Best Food to Best Shopping. Fill out the ballot—only a page from the Saratoga Sun will be accepted, no photocopies—and either mail it to us or drop it off at the office.

Vote as many times as you want. Pick up copies of the newspaper and share them with your friends, with your customers, with your brother’s uncle’s mother. Flood our mailbox and our office with ballots!

Remember, this is a popularity contest so the more votes the better the chance of winning.

Voting will be open from December 5 through December 31, 2024. Ballots sent through the mail which are postmarked for December 31 will be counted.

Winners will be announced in the January 30, 2025 edition of the Saratoga Sun and certificates will be awarded that same night at the Platte Valley Community Center during our after hours chamber social. Along with the certificates, winners will get bragging rights for a year.
