Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Working in the Valley for more than six years, Ryan Quinn serves up meals and beverages in the saloon at the Hotel Wolf
If you are stopping through or live in Saratoga, no doubt you have been served a tasty beverage by one of only two full-time bartenders at the Hotel Wolf.
Ryan Quinn has been with the Wolf for over six years serving lunch, dinner and cocktails in the bar area of the downtown staple.
Quinn, originally from Cheyenne, Wyoming, did not start out to live in Saratoga.
While in college, he studied special education and elementary education with the hope to teach after his studies.
After beginning the last part of his education student teaching, Quinn decided that teaching was not a good fit for him.
Quinn was job searching in Colorado for anything when he received a call from Jim Beckmann of local Carbon Power and Light. Quinn’s college roommate was the best friend of Beckmann.
Beckmann told Ryan — the Hotel Wolf was hiring.
Quinn interviewed, was hired and has called Saratoga home since.
Quinn does have family close in Centennial, Riverside, Wyoming and Newcastle, Colorado. He and his brother, Steve, purchased a house in Saratoga a couple of years ago and he has no plans to leave anytime soon.
The small town, river, and dirt roads have kept Quinn here floating and fishing when not working.
The two bartenders at the Wolf cover 10 shifts weekly — sometimes 12.
Quinn enjoys the flexibility of switching days and nights during the week and enjoys serving the customers.
With a smile on his face, he takes care of many patrons who swing through the doors and discover the old time saloon in the “Grand Ole Gal of the Valley.”
