Shelby McGuire, associate broker at Town & Country Realty, awarded Carbon County Realtor of the Year

On August 14, Shelby McGuire was recognized by her peers as she was awarded Realtor of the Year by the Carbon County Board of Realtors.

The Realtor award honors one member each year who has contributed the most to the advancement of the real estate profession in Wyoming and its communities; to recognize that Realtor for efforts and work expended in the interest of the Association; to demonstrate to the public the place of the Realtor in the community; and to call attention to the qualifications of these Realtors for positions of leadership in business and in the organization.

McGuire has been a Real Estate Sales Associate since 2019 and is the current president of the Carbon County Board of Realtors. McGuire said she was surprised when her name was announced as Realtor of the Year.

“I had no idea this was coming and it was a nice surprise,” McGuire said. “If I were to give my thanks, I would first give thanks to my broker manager, Amanda Shahadey. Not only is she my boss but my best friend and the best person I could ever work for. I would also like to give thanks to the entire Board of Realtors and it has been a great honor for me to serve as their president this year. I am looking forward to continuing serving my community anywhere we can help.”

Mc Gurie’s current title at Town & Country Realty is Associate Broker. McGurrie said she first started her real estate career in 2019.

“I started my real estate career in Rawlins and worked there for one year,” McGuire said. “I came over to Town & Country Realty in 2020 and I have been there ever since. Amanda took over the business three years ago and has been such a great boss. I also had a great boss and teacher in Laurie Forster before she retired.”

When McGuire is not working as a broker, she is an assistant volleyball coach at Saratoga Middle High School. McGuire said she is looking forward to this season.

“This will be my second year as assistant volleyball coach,” McGuire said. “We have a great

group of girls with lots of talent. I am looking forward to working with them every day and watching them put their heart on the court. I feel honored just to spend the time that I have with them and we have such a great coaching staff.”

Shahadey said McGuire’s hard work and dedication helped her to be recognized as the Realtor of The Year.

“Shelby is well deserved for this award and works hard,” Shahadey said. “She started at a hard time in real estate but has pulled through and stayed with it and has done such a terrific job representing buyers and sellers as well as being involved with the community.”

Shahadey said McGuire always sets a good example for others to follow.

“Shelby has great honesty and integrity in everything she does, “ Shahadey said. “She works with a great attitude and always has a smile on her face.”

Buck Wilson, President of Wyoming Realtors, said he is proud of McGuire winning the Realtor of The Year Award. He said it could not have gone to a better person.

“I could not be more delighted, “ Wilson said. “Shelby has been a rising star in our leadership program for a few years now and does well in serving the Carbon County area.”

Wilson said he has been getting a lot of positive feedback on McGuire’s great services for her clients. He said she goes above and beyond for their needs.

“From everything we have heard, Shelby is always on top of things,” Wilson said. “She is honest and forthright and always makes sure her clients are at the front of the equation. “
