On Par For 20 Years

Rochelle Ranch Golf Course celebrates 20th Anniversary on August 3

The Rochelle Ranch Golf Course in Rawlins celebrated two decades in business on August 3, hosting a full day of events ranging from free golf to a barbecue patio party.

Kids and adults could be seen putting golf balls on the small course. Golf instructors were also giving tips to kids on how to make the perfect putt.

“It is an exciting time for Rochelle Ranch Golf Course,” said Abe Coulsey, Rochelle Ranch Golf Course Superintendent. “We have been officially in business for 20 years and it is a huge deal for our golf course and our membership.”

Coulsey said he credits local support for the success of the Rochelle Ranch Golf Course, as they have contributed to keep its operations moving forward.

“The locals have made it possible for us to stay in business for the past 20 years,” Coulsey said. “Everyone from Rawlins, Saratoga, Encampment, and beyond are die-hard golf players who have been faithful and supportive of our golf course. They are the backbone of our membership.”

Coulsey said in the three years he has worked at the golf course, Rochelle Ranch has been involved in community activities and fundraisers.

“The golf course has hosted high school P.E classes for Rawlins students to play golf,” Coulsey said. “We have also done fundraisers with different organizations from the animal shelter to cancer research. Getting involved in community activities is important to us and our members.”

Coulsey said the Rochelle Ranch members are such amazing people. He said the members are fun to talk to and they are willing to help the golf course out whenever they can.

“For the short time I have been here, I heard stories on how instrumental our members are to our golf course,” Coulsey said. “They always ask if there is anything they can do to help out the golf course or help with any events we have hosted.”
