Bringing Red Dirt to the Platte Valley

Southern Fryed to open for headlining artist Lita Ford at this year’s Saratoga Days

Southern Fryed Is making its third visit to Carbon County in four months and will be opening for legendary rock star Lita Ford at Saratoga Days on Saturday, June 6

Southern Fryed made its first appearance in Carbon County on April 27 at the Parco-Sinclair Theater and visited the Platte Valley on June 14 at the Encampment Festival.

Russ Brown, Southern Fryed frontman, said the band is excited to make its Saratoga debut.

He said it is a great honor to be an opening act for a legend like Lita Ford.

“We are so looking forward to Saratoga Days,” Brown said. “Me and the guys were super excited to find out we were opening for Lita Ford. We grew up listening to Lita and Ozzy Osbourne back in the 1980s. For us to have an opportunity to open up for such an amazing legendary artist like Lita, is completely awesome. We are humbled, excited, and thankful to the town of Saratoga for giving us this opportunity to perform at Saratoga Days.”

Brown said the entire Platte Valley has amazing people who truly love music. He said he had such a great experience performing in Encampment.

“We had such an amazing turnout and crowd,” Brown said. “The people were really into our music and everyone was having so much fun. This is why we like to perform. We just love seeing the crowd react to our songs and performances. While the crowd was listening to our original music, by the second chorus everyone was singing along to our songs. It's such an amazing feeling

Brown said he had such a great time with his band performing in Sinclair. He said the town of Sinclair wanted Southern Fryed back.

“We had such an amazing show at the Parco Sinclair Theater,” Brown said. “It was a great crowd and the people who attended were responsive. The Town of Sinclair hosted us well and treated us so nice. We had such a fun time and it was a great stage. Everyone had a blast. The Mayor of Sinclair wants us back and he wants to plan an outdoor concert for us in the future.”

Brown said his overall experience with Sinclair and the Platte Valley tells him the best is yet to come. He believes Saratoga Days could top them all.

“We love the Platte Valley and they love us,” Brown said. “The people love music, singing along, and having fun. When they are having a good time, We are having a good time.”

Southern Fryed will perform in downtown Saratoga at 3 p.m. on July 6.
