An overview of the latest Riverside Town Council Meeting

The Riverside Town Council met June 13 to discuss a plethora of subjects. The agenda included approving liquor licenses, issues with sewer, changing a street name in remembrance, and some discussion on a possible rate change.

Liquor licenses applications for the Bear Trap and the Mangy Moose were submitted for renewal which were passed by the council.

Mayor Leroy Stephenson reported that, while personnel were in the sewer lift, a battery was blown.

Mayor Stephenson presented the idea that a street name was changed in remembrance of long time council member Fred Lorenz who has passed away. The Council discussed the renaming of Shoshone Ave to Lorenz Lane. This has been passed and town Clerk Jana Cook will write a resolution to formally make the change.

Lee Ann Stephenson of the Sierra Madre Joint Powers Board said that some properties have received new water meters which started a discussion of a slight rate change that will be put in place after the first of the coming year.

The next meeting of the Riverside Town Council will be at 6 p.m. on July 11 at Riverside Town Hall.
