Buy breakfast, bake sale goodies to help provide free meals for folks

Flush valley residents are urged to buy a breakfast or bake sale item Saturday, June 29, so less fortunate folks may enjoy a free meal once a month.

A fundraiser bake sale and homemade breakfast, sponsored by the “Gather at the Table” committee, will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Bridge & Third streets.

In addition to all the delicious bake sale items, folks may purchase a homemade breakfast consisting of biscuits and gravy or a breakfast burrito, to be eaten at the Fellowship Hall table or to take home, for only nine dollars each.

Proceeds from the event will help provide “free meals and fellowship” for those who “Gather at the Table” the first Monday of each month.

The next “gathering” will be Monday, July 1st from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall and everyone is invited to start the Independence Day celebration with a free meal of hot dogs with homemade chili and coleslaw plus toppings, loaded baked beans, summer mac-n-cheese salad, layered cheesecake and drinks.
