Kaake Walk Dog Park in need of funding for upkeep and maintenance

The Kaake Walk Dog Park is where their four-legged companions can spend time together.

Kaake Walk Dog Park was first founded by Ruth and Leon Hetherington and opened in 2002. Since then, the Platte Valley Community has volunteered to help clean up the park or do maintenance and repairs. The Hetherington’s named the park after their close friends Bill and Syril Kaake who were also dog lovers.

Kaake Walk Dog Park is now looking for donations to help keep the park operating. Georgia Zimermman, groundskeeper and organizer for Kaake Walk Dog Park said upgrades such as painting the shelters are needed. She also said funding for disposable waste bags is also in need to clean up any dog waste

“The dog park is a non-profit organization, " Zimmerman said “All the money we get from donations goes to get waste bags and other supplies. We are looking to paint the shelters and if anyone wants to donate, they can.”

For volunteer work or to make donations, contact Zimmerman at 307-326-8571. Check donations can be made out to Bob and Georgia Zimmerman. Kaake Walk Dog Park's address is 404 W Walnut St Saratoga, WY 82331. The donation box is located near the entrance.
