Pork on menu for free meal

‘Gather at the Table’ June 3rd for best free meal in country

“Best free meal in the country,” boasts a satisfied patron with a full tummy at the last Gather at the Table supper.

He further promised, “I’ll be back next month.”

That happy diner, along with everyone else, is invited to “Gather at the Table” for a free meal and fellowship Monday, June 3rd, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the Saratoga Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Third and Bridge Streets in downtown Saratoga.

On the menu is stir fried glazed pork with broccoli as well as buttered rice, ramped-up baked mac-n-cheese, fried crispy strips, pecan/cranberry cinnamon sticky buns and drinks.

For another “best free meal” folks, especially the hungry and lonely, are urged to just show up to eat, meet and greet. No reservations are needed and no restrictions apply.

“Gather at the Table” is a non-profit charity extension of the First Presbyterian Church of Saratoga. Its mission is to provide a welcoming meal to anyone who desires food and fellowship in and around this community.

Meals are prepared and served buffet style by volunteers in order to provide families and individuals a free hot meal once a month in order to “fulfill a physical and spiritual hunger by reflecting the teachings of Jesus Christ with love and openness through serving others,” according to the “Gather at the Table” committee.
