Majority of Saratoga seniors make plans to continue their education after high school
It was a day of laughter, joy, tears, and happiness as Saratoga seniors took part in college signing day on Senior Fischer Williams said he had almost forgotten about signing day. He said he ended up wearing his crazy shorts when he signed his letter.
“It was a lot of fun and I almost forgot it was happening,” Williams said. “It is exciting to come together with my family and friends on this special day.”
Williams has signed a letter of commitment to Northwest College (NWC) and wants to major in Aviation Science.
“NWC has the best Aviation program for the money and the region,” Williams said. “My goal is to fly jets for the airlines or fly private corporate jets.”
Williams said his athletic career in sports is now finished and has no plans to compete in sports again. He said he had many great memories playing basketball and performing in track & Field at Saratoga. Williams also said although he did not achieve his goal of winning the State Championship in basketball, it was still a great ride.
“Competing for the State Championship is something I will cherish,” Williams said. “It felt like redemption after we fell short last season when we were supposed to win it all. We capitalized on that in the semifinals when we finally beat Cokeville and it was the greatest feeling in the world.”
Finn Rolseth, who already signed a commitment letter to Rocky Mountain College back in March, attended college signing day to celebrate with family, friends, and teachers. He said today was special to join his classmates and to celebrate this special occasion.
“It is great to come out and see everybody manage to go to college in general,” Rolseth said. “Especially to share this moment with my close friend Fisher and to celebrate with everyone who is moving on.”
Roselth and Williams said they have many great memories which will be talked about forever. Fisher said his greatest moment with Roselth was when he dunked over him in a game against Encampment. Roselth said ever since last year’s loss in the semi-finals, he and Williams built a bond together and practiced together during the off-season.
Jacob Kmoch signed a letter with Northern Colorado University. He said he picked NCU because they had the better sports administration program he was looking for.
“Today it was exciting and a little weird in the last weeks of school, “ Kmoch said. “It is also exciting to let the public know where I am headed. At first, I wanted to go to the University of Wyoming but NCU had the better sports administration program I was looking for.”
