Jordan, Pickett siblings lead the way for Tigers as they head to Casper to finish out the season
The Jordan and Pickett families are making their way to the State Championship.
Both Quade and Kristie Jordan along with Kaben and Eckerly Pickett have been dominating for Encampment for the past few weeks.
Now adding to the list of State Championship qualifiers for the girls is Kyenna Jackson and for the boys is Chase Brown and Hayden Crow.
Girls Varsity Results
Jackson took 1st place in the shot put with a distance of 35 feet, 10 inches and a 4th finish in discus with a distance of 87 feet, 3 inches. Jackson will advance to the State Championship in both events.
Boys Varsity Results
Brown took a 2nd place finish in the high jump with a distance height of 5 feet, 8 inches. Brown will move on to the State Championship in this event.
Hayden Crowe took two 8th place finishes in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.59 seconds and the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.48 seconds. Crowe also finished 7th place in the 400 meter dash with a time of 57.02.
Q.Jordan, Tyrel Brown, Crowe, and K.Pickett took 3rd place in the 400 meter relay with a time of 47.76 seconds and advanced to the State Championship.
Head Coach Kagan Willford said he is excited about the results his team made.
“We had a great weekend at regional track,” Willford said. “We had a lot of athletes rise to the occasion to qualify for the State Track Meet. I am proud of everyone on the team.”
The State Track and Field Championship will be held at Kelly Walsh High School in Casper, Wyoming from May 16 to May 18.
