Encampment makes improvements in track and field

The Jordan siblings dominate in Rawlins, getting top finishes for the Tigers

On April 12, Encampment Tiger Track and Field competed in the Rawlins where the Jordan siblings earned top finishes for Encampment. The Tigers finished strong getting into the top seven.

 

Encampment Girls

Kristie Jordan and Eckerley Pickett earned top finishes for the girls team while in Rawlins.

Jordan placed 7th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.92, 1st place in shot put with a distance of 33 feet, 10 inches with a and 1st place in discus with a throw of 105 feet, 5.5 inches.

Pickett took 7th place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 30.10 seconds.

 

Encampment Boys

Quade Jordan, Kaben Pickett and Chase Brown each earned top while in Rawlins. Both Jordan and Pickett have been dominating the Shot Put and Discus events giving 1st and 2nd places for Encampment.

Jordan placed 1st place in shot put throwing for a distance of 55 feet, 2.50 inches and a 1st place finish in discus with a distance of 142 feet, 9 Inches.

Pickett took 2nd place in shot put throwing for a distance of 55 feet, 2.50 inches and a 2nd place in discus with a throwing distance of 140 feet, 8 inches. Chase Brown earned 8th place in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 4 inches.

Both Jordan siblings, Tyrel Brown and Kaben Pickett earned 1st place in the weightmans’ 4x100 meter relay with a time of 51.00 seconds. Kegan Willford, head coach for Encampment Track and Field, said it has been a great week for his team. He said many improvements have been made.

“It was a great day for us at the track meet,” Willford said. “We have a lot of athletes who keep improving on their times and distance and that is what we hope they continue to do each week.”

Encampment will be heading to Shoshoni on Friday April 19 for their next meet. Field events begin at 10 a.m. Running events begin at 11:30 a.m.
