Jordan siblings get top finishes
The Encampment Track and Field had two boys and one girl getting top finishes at the Rock Springs track meet. The Tigers had a good track meet but they are looking to improve and to work on making state qualifications.
Encampment Head Coach Kegan Willford said he is pleased with his team’s performance but said there is still more work to be done. He said the goal is for his team to get better each week.
“It was good to get a meet this week,” Wilford said. “We look to see our athletes improve in their events each week and we saw a lot of that this week.”
Encampment Girls
Kristie Jordan is the only girl to get top finishes in four different events. Jordan earned 5th place in the 100 meter dash and an 8th place finish in the 100 meter hurdles. Jordan’s time in the 100 meter dash was 13.59 and a time of 18.24 in the 100 meter hurdles.
Jordan also got a 5th place finish in Shot Put with a throwing distance of 34 feet and a 2nd place finish in Discus with a throwing distance of 108 feet.
Encampment Boys
Quade Jordan and Kaben Pickett are the only two boys on the track and field team to get top finishes. Jordan got 1st place in the Shot Put event with a throwing distance of 49 feet, 10.50 inches. He also got another 1st place finish in the Discus event with a throwing distance of 144 feet, 3 Inches.
Pickett got a 6th place in the shot put event with a throwing distance of 42 feet, 2 inches and a 2nd place finish in discus with a throwing distance of 135 feet, 7 inches.
