Brian Jay Detterer

Brian Jay Detterer, age 58 passed away in a commercial trucking accident on Wyoming Highway 30 on Monday, March 11, 2024.

Brian was raised on the family farm in Windsor, Colorado where he graduated from Windsor High School in 1983. He spent a few years farming in the Windsor area, before moving to Wyoming to pursue his dream of being a cowboy. He worked on ranches until the last few years where he was employed driving commercial sand truck.

Brian was a member of the Platte Valley Christian Center Assembly of God Church in Saratoga, where he kept the prayer warriors busy with his life events. Brian recently chose to invest in his faith, and pursue a deeper relationship with God, and his family was blessed to see this transformation. Brian recently shared this a quote that he really took to heart, “A secret to life; we are all seeking joy and fulfillment in our lives. The only way to achieve this is by turning our lives to God, fully, with no reserves and do his will.”

The celebration of life service will be April 13, 2024, at 10:30am. The service will be held at the Platte Valley Christian Center Assembly of God Church in Saratoga, Wyoming with a luncheon to follow.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Werner and Helen Detterer, and his brother David Jon Detterer.

Brian leaves behind four siblings: Teresa Detterer of Johnstown, Colorado, Werner Lee Detterer of Windsor, Colorado, Connie Bond husband Alan of Colorado Springs, Colorado and RoseAnne Detterer of Polson, Montana. Along with eight nieces and nephews. Brian leaves behind his sons: Clayton Detterer wife Kristina, and sons Bowen and Hudson of Bridgeport, Nebraska. Garret Detterer wife Becca, son Monte, and daughter Jolene of Walden, Colorado. Brian also leaves behind three adopted sons: Cody Detterer wife Bailey, son Thomas Michael, and daughter Greylynn of Saratoga, Wyoming, Jeremy Detterer of Saratoga, Wyoming, Aaron Detterer of Saratoga, Wyoming.

Donations will be given to Pure Life Ministries in honor of Brian, as they held a special place in his heart, as well as his spiritual transformation in the last year.
