Leap Into a Fundraising Challenge for Never Forget Park

Bridge Street Bargains invite the public to celebrate this Leap Year with a challenge – to raise money for Never Forget Park. “Leap Year allows an extra day to do something extra special,” Committee member of Never Forget Park Stacy Crimmins said.

The ladies at Bridge Street Bargains believe in this project and they are offering a match to every dollar donated up to $10,000, Crimmins said.

“I think this a great way to celebrate the Leap Year,” Crimmins said, and she hopes the community rises to the challenge. The checks would be made out to Bridge Street Bargains, which has a bonus of being tax deductible, Crimmins added.

The public has until May 31, 2024 to make a donation to the Never Forget Park and double the donation through Bridge Street Bargains.

Crimmins has been busy writing grants for the project, but the park also depends on the community to pitch in to make it a reality.

“This is a project I really believe in,” Crimmins said. Incidentally, Crimmins does not have any members of her family that served in the military. The Crimmins family had a good friend who served and they have purchased a bench in his honor.

In addition, Never Forget Park will recognize the sacrifices that firemen, policemen, EMT’s, medical professionals, and first responders have made as well. The Crimmins family will be purchasing a plate for a bench in honor of their son-in-law who is in law enforcement.

“The donation doesn’t have to be big,” Crimmins said. “Small donations add up and I encourage anyone who has served, or has a family member who has served to contribute to the Never Forget Park.”
