Tuning up for the win
Marilee Williams, Bennett Keel, Sihauna Sanchez, Kelsea Raymer and Jett Arney finished in the top ten at the Wheatland Invitational. Marilee Williams became the first Saratoga Woman since 2007 to be an invitational champion at a meet.
Saratoga Middle High School Head Coach Rex Hohnholt said, “As we head to the Leroy Sprague Invitational in Cheyenne this week it will mark the end of our middle school season and the last regular season tune up for the high school before the State Cross Country Championships in Cheyenne on Oct. 22. I can’t say enough positives about the performances of our middle school athletes this year. This is a very competitive bunch and all have improved tremendously this year. All of you have a very bright future in this sport and I can’t thank you enough for all the effort you have put into being successful. On the high school side most of our athletes had seasonal best times at the Cheyenne Invite last year so hope that trend continues again this year. Run with a lot of confidence this week. Know you got your absolute best effort this week so you can carry that positive experience into the state championships in two weeks.”
