From the Platte Valley Martial Arts

Prominent Martial Arts Instructor visits

SARATOGA, WY - Saratoga recently played host to several prominent martial artists, including world-renowned Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) instructor, Roy Dean.

Platte Valley Martial Arts was the center of attention in hosting Roy Dean and his affiliates at their annual gathering. BJJ practitioners from as far as Australia visited Saratoga to train with fellow students and athletes at PVMA.

“It was an honor and privilege to host Professor Dean and showcase BJJ to our community and beyond,” said Nick Haderlie, President of PVMA. “We hope to put Saratoga on the map for top notch martial arts instruction.”

Amongst the visiting affiliate ranks were Byron Higinbotham, previous Gracie Worlds Champion, Chris Mikuta, USA Judo National Coach, and Abrie Kilian, 2022 Canadian Champion.

“We hope Roy’s visit will churn more interest in the BJJ and Judo programs PVMA offers, particularly our adult programs” Haderlie said. “Although our after-school kids classes continue to be our flagship program, we have strong programs for adults as well.”

PVMA is an affiliate of Roy Dean and his line of esteemed academies and provides training in numerous martial arts disciplines, including BJJ, Judo, Karate, White Crane Silat, and Tai Chi. PVMA also offers fitness-based dance classes and yoga.
