This Is Open Season for Accidents
The usual number of accidents incident to the haying season have occurred recently, and several local people are tied up in slings as a result. Each year, due probably to the unusual amount of team work and other handling of horse at this season, a number of persons meet with more serious injuries.
Aside from the tragic death of P. A. Fields, which was the result of a hay-field accident, and which is reported in another column, A. T. Fausett is confined to his home by injuries received a few days ago when he was thrown from a wagon in a runaway which occurred on the east side of the river. No bones were broken, but his left ankle was sprained and the ligaments torn about the ankle and foot. He is able to be up today and will not be an invalid for many days.
Tommy Kenneday, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs.F. F. Kennaday, is laid up as a result of a kick from a horse, one of the shoulder bones being broken.
The latest fracture is that of a young man employed by S. G. Hunter, who sustained a fracture of the bones in one arm yesterday, as a result of an accident with a horse.
