Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Eddy (Edward Thomas) Kennaday passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last Monday, May 15, 2023. Eddy was born in Rawlins, Wyoming October 1, 1963 to Rose and Jim Kennaday. He joined three sisters; Janet, Shelly and Jamie and one brother, Jimi. He is survived by two of his sister and his brother, numerous nieces and nephews, and his wife of 24 years, Joni. Eddy is also survived by his much loved stepson, Mike Kimsey (Lisa), his two grandsons, Grant and Jack Kimsey, and his great granddaughter River Kimsey, sister-in-law Cathy Williams (Gary) and their extended families. His step-children were the delight of his life because he didn't have any children of his own. Eddy also leave behind many special friends.
Eddy will be remembered for his love rendezvous and anything to do with it. He was an accomplished maker of leather clothing, and dressed hundreds of buck skinners during his life. He loved the outdoors and anything that was done there.
Mostly, Eddy loved kids! Anyone's kids. He worked several years at the "Hub" in Saratoga, mentoring and helping raise many, many local children, who are still "his kids."
Whether Ed was giving life lessons or teaching kids how to be a mountain man, he was devoted to his family, friends and anyone who needed help. His humor, laughter, wisdom and kindness from his loving heart will never be replaced and will not be forgotten.
Eddy was an inspiration to anyone and everyone who knew him. His tenderness with kids, family and the whole world will never be replaced.
An informal memorial gathering will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Saratoga American Legion, starting at noon. Everyone is welcome to share stories and remember Eddy. Light refreshments will be served, young people are welcome also.
