John Bernard Lund, PE, (September 1, 1930-April 25, 2023) longtime Wyoming resident, Veteran, UW grad (1952), Civil Engineering (JT Banner), Pioneering Mountaineer (UW Outing Club Leader), Archaeologist (National Forest Service), passed peacefully in Laramie. Born to Carl S. (1899-1984) and Josephine (Frank) (1900-2002) Lund. John and sister Joan Berry Brown, (1932-2015) grew up with many adventures across Wyoming.
Being a student of life John was able to pursue his interest with his loving partner Kathy Boyd. They lived in AZ and CO amongst extended family.
Retiring to Saratoga, 2000, John was active on public boards, wrote extensively, pursued photography, became a Hot Springs regular, and continued outdoor adventures with new and lifelong friends.
In 2020, John retured to Laramie where he and his dog Millie could walk daily along the Laramie River with friends and family.
Survived by former wife Helen (Lancaster), their children Dawn and Aaron, and later partner, Kathy Boyd.
Services will be held in Saratoga at a later date.
