Color Run fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce and the Recreation Department

Having fun and raising money

Saratoga Recreation Center and Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce collaborate for an amazing event that raised funds that will be earmarked at the May 2 Recreation Board meeting. Sarah Laughlin, the director of the Recreation Center said there were roughly 15 volunteers. She said that there were volunteer representatives from the recreation center, Saratoga and Encampment High Schools, as well as the Kiwanis, Gayle Crignan and Carol Kelley.

Despite the weather on Saturday, they had roughly 80 runners including the kids 1/2 mile fun run. Laughlin said volunteers came together and really got into chalking runners as they went by. The North Platte Valley Medical Center had great representation as a team builder for the staff of the new hospital. "Amanda Knotwell, CEO for the Saratoga Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce was great to partner with", said Laughlin, "I am very thankful to all of the volunteers that came out to ensure a good, colorful time for all runners by throwing colored chalk.
