Encampment High School Tigers Track season

The Tigers are looking to make their mark

The Encampment Tigers were off to a no-start when their first meet at Wind River was canceled due to weather conditions.  They are set to compete for the first time this season on Friday, April 6 in the Okie Blanchard Meet at Cheyenne East High School in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Encampment School Track Coach Kegan WIllford said, "Due to the weather and conditions in Encampment it has been a more challenging start than most years. We haven't been able to get outside much yet.  With that, we are trying some different methods for training this season.  Adaptability and patience have been key up to this point."

"We have 18 athletes out for track this season. Track season in Wyoming is always unpredictable, but we are hoping that when we start competing things will start to become routine again."

Coach Willford went on to say, "Our main goal at this point is to participate in a meet so our athletes can get marks in their events so we can look to improve on those marks going forward.  After that, we look for improvement each week and hope we can peak by regionals and state."
