Encampment Lady Tigers take it all

Tigers win both games

The Encampment Lady Tigers went into Friday's game against Little Snake River's Lady Rattlers with one thing on their mind–to win, and they did. The Lady Tigers fought hard and ended with 45 points, the Lady Rattlers with 37.

Coach Clint Bromley said, "This was a good win for our team and the first one we have had in the Baggs gym for several years. I thought our girls played hard and finished well, outscoring the Rattlers 18 to 12 in the fourth quarter. I think we have found out a few things that make our team more successful and it will be exciting to see how they finish the season off."

Cora Schroeder scored 15 points with 8 rebounds and 3 assists.

Kyenna Jackson picked up 14 points with 11 rebounds and 2 steals.

Regin Steward won 6 points for the team and Allison Bromley threw a 3 pointer, and picked up 4 rebounds and 7 assists.

The Lady Tigers faced HEM's Lady Miners on Saturday. HEM lost to Encampment 58-22.

Bromley said that he felt they had an exceptionally good first half in this game and then coasted a little in the second half. "I thought the defense was solid and did a pretty good job of controlling the paint and when you only allow five two-point baskets in a game, good things happen." Bromley said the Lady Miners are young, but their girls have a lot of heart. "I think we will see good things happen in the future with that bunch of players."

"I thought our big girls played an average game for them and then the guards stepped up and contributed more than they have, so that is encouraging looking down the road," said Bromley.

Kyenna Jackson scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

Cora Schroeder picked up 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Allison Bromley scored 10 points for the Tigers with 6 assists and 6 steals.

Peyton Munroe scored 7 points with 4 steals and Regin Stewart picked up 7 points with 6 steals and 2 assists.

This was the Lady Tigers last home game and emotions ran high for the seniors.

Encampment's Lady Tigers will face off with Cokeville's Lady Panthers in a conference game on February 10 at Cokeville.
