Saratoga senior performs at Wyoming All-State Jazz Honor Ensemble

Madison Teichman, a senior at Saratoga Middle High School recently participated in the Wyoming Jazz Educators' Honor Vocal Jazz set of rehearsals and performance at Natrona County High School in Casper. Madison was selected as an alto singer in the Vocal Jazz Ensemble; one of twenty six students selected out of over one hundred auditions state wide.

The director of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble was Kerry Marsh of the professional performing group Vertical Voices. Marsh has also been on the Vocal Faculty of the University of Northern Colorado and Sacramento State University. He has also won several National Downbeat awards for outstanding vocal performance.

The Wyoming All-State Jazz Honor Ensembles took place Sunday through Tuesday,

January 29 – 31 in Casper, Wyoming. Selected members in the Vocal Jazz group came from

Kelly Walsh and Natrona County High Schools in Casper, Sheridan High School, Buffalo High School, Cody High School, Laramie High School, Cheyenne South and East High Schools, Worland High School, Mountain View High School, and Saratoga High School.
