Rebound, rebound, rebound

Encampment Lady Tigers fight to the finish

The Tigers scored 44 points and stopped the visiting Rock River Lady Longhorns in their tracks on Friday. With a 44-25 win the girls were playing strong. Coach Clint Bromley said, "I thought we came out and played with intensity and were able to get the ball inside to our big girls and get to the line which was the difference in the game. The team rebounded the ball really well and won that battle. Both Cora Schroeder and Kyenna Jackson had a double double and that is huge for our team". Schroeder scored 17 points with 17 rebounds and Jackson rocked it with 13 points and 21 rebounds. "Rock River is a good team and people will have to contend with them late in the season," predicted Bromley.

The Lady Tigers didn't fair as well with their next game on Saturday against the LSRV Rattlers. They were ahead in the last few minutes of the game, but lost their momentum. Bromley said, "I thought we came out really flat in this game and were willing to accept the tempo that LSRV established and I think it made a big difference in the outcome of the game. We won the battle of the boards but only by a small margin (48-45). It was a close game through 4 quarters with no one getting an edge and they just made the better decisions in the final minutes to get the win. We will work at getting better and hope for a different turnout when we go to Baggs."

Cora Schroeder lead the team with 12 points and 12 rebounds for her second double–double on the weekend.

Kyenna Jackson had 5 points and 15 rebounds.

Allison Bromley had 6 assists.

The Lady Tigers will face the Farson-Eden Pronghorns on Friday January 20th and the Cokeville Panthers on Saturday January 21st. These are both conference games on Encampment's home court.
