D'Ron Campbell, Jason Campbell, Leslie McLinskey, Mike Erickson and Bob Herring. Leslie McLinskey received the award for 2021-2022 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award. This award recognizes classroom teachers for promoting citizenship education, and promoting America's history and traditions. Mike Erickson received the 2021-2022 Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Education Teacher Award for Encampment K-12 School.
Kaben Pickett, Ryon Miller and Hayden Suttee read a sections of their essays written for the VFW's Voice of Democracy. Raden Miller and Kannon Gilbert read a section from their VFW's Patriot's Pen essay contest while veterans Cassie Reid, Bill Wadsworth, Bill Grainer, Dave Accord, Martha Ralston, Bob Herring, Jason Campbell, D'Ron Campbell and Chief of Police Kevin Shue.
As each of the following students read a short history of their chosen branch of the military the first graders sang the anthem for that branch. Presenterers Quade Jordan - Army; Allison Bromley - Navy; Korbyn Barkhurst - Air Force; Hayden Suttee - Marines; Tyrel Brown - Coast Guard Mrs. Brooke Seitz filled in for Robby Follum on the piano, and Owen Tanner prepared the whole thing as his National Honor Society service project!
