Cargo trailer stolen

Local man’s property missing after theives cut lock

Bill Schroer of Saratoga, believes his cargo trailer was taken during the night of October 27, or possibly early morning.

Schroer drives school bus for Carbon County School District No. 2 (CCSD#2). He was getting off work at about 8:30 a.m. after running his normal bus route. As he was driving past his shop, he noticed a trailer missing. Schroer called the police and Officer John Moore responded. They found the trailer hitch lock had been cut and there were tire tracks in the snow.

There were several trailers sitting there, Schroer said he uses them for storage. He thinks they picked that trailer because it was in the back where it is dark. The radio station is in front of the area where the trailer was sitting, but the Disc Jockey is in a sound proof room so wouldn’t have heard anything.

Schroer said that he and Moore drove all over Saratoga in case the trailer was parked somewhere.

The trailer does not have any brand insignia’s on it or any other identifiable markings.

Schroer described the trailer as a white 20 foot enclosed cargo trailer with a black tongue. The rear door is a drop down door. The Wyoming license plate ends in 2335. The trailer is a two axle, square nosed trailer, approximately eight feet tall from the ground up. Schroer said it’s a short trailer.

The trailer is also missing the vent cap in the roof. It is covered with a piece of plywood bolted to the top of the trailer.

This incident is still under investigation by the Saratoga Police Department.
