Kathleen Ann Shamion passed away peacefully at her home in Sundance, October 20, 2022. She went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, at the age of 82.
Kathleen married Robert John Shamion on August 16, 1958 and was happily married for 64 years.
Kathleen was born April 06, 1940 in Stambaugh, Michigan.
In 1958, she graduated from Iron River High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor of Science in Education from Black Hills State University with Suma Cum Laude Honors, December of 1987. Her teaching career began in 1988 and she retired from teaching in 2007. Kathy truly loved her career and touched the lives of many students.
One of Kathleen's favorite things to do was spending time with her husband, the love of her life. Her hobbies included spending time with her family and friends. She also loved camping, fishing and traveling, however, her most favorite pastime activity was dancing the polka with her husband.
Kathleen survived by her husband Robert Shamion and five children, Susan Parrie, Laurie and Reg Forster, Gary Shamion (Toby), Jeff Shamion (Laura) and Ann Allen (George). They have 14 grandchildren, Brian and Chelsey Parrie, Jennifer and Tom Tolzien, Timothy and Sara Parrie, Jeremy and Polly Parrie, Scott and Ken Coronet, Holly and Carson Kawano, Brooke and Dillon Karajanis, Brandee Forster and Skyler Lee, Kyle and Natishia Shamion, Colin and Brooklyn Shamion, Jonathon and Kristen Shamion, Jadon Shamion, Gaven Allen, Blaine Allen. They also have 26 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents Irving and Nell Crowgey, her son-in-law, Randall Parrie, and grandson Seth Shamion.
A private family service will take place at a later date.
