LSRV keeps Farson-Eden scoreless as the Rattlers keep winning
The Farson-Eden Pronghorns got a taste of their own medicine after they beat a young Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) that they kept scoreless and ran up the points last week. This week, the Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) High School football team beat Farson 63 to 0.
The Rattlers are undefeated and have clinched home field advantage for the playoffs.
“Farson has some talent, so we had to play,” Jack Cobb, the head coach for LSRV said. “We were able to get some good time for our varsity players and then in the 3rd quarter, we started subbing some of our younger kids.”
Cobb said the younger kids did well too.
“We had two quarters of JV kids playing and they scored too,” Cobb said. “I have to say it was a pretty good day for our football team.”
Kannadis Peroulis rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns. Hadley Myers rushed for 117 yards and scored a touchdown. Wade Corson ran in the Rattlers fourth touchdown. The passing game was solid, scoring three touchdowns for LSRV. Two came from Zane Matheson and one from Myers. The touchdown passes were caught by Myers, Seth Maxson and Isaiah Skalberg.
The Rattlers made four of their two point tries.
A very good day for the offense.
The defense that kept the Pronghorns scoreless also had a good day.
Peroulis had 14 tackles. Maxson had 13 and Bridger Cozzens had 12. There was many players that got over five tackles a piece.
The Pronghorns were overpowered in all ways.
Cobb has one more game before the playoffs start that is not a conference game. Then they will host Hulett in the start of the playoffs.
“I just want us to stay healthy and be ready for the playoffs,” Cobb said. “That is very important when you get to this point of the season.”
Cobb is making no predictions on which team is going to be the hardest to go up against as playoffs start.
He said Dubois and Encampment look to be the strong challengers from his conference.
“They both have enough talent to make you scared whenever you play them,” Cobb said. “Also Burlington is a team to watch. I tell you what, they were sort of overlooked in the pre-season, but Burlington could be right there. We know they are a team to watch.”
Cobb said he wants to take the coming weeks as one game at a time.
“My kids are all playing well and I can’t ask any more,” Cobb said. “Now we just have to continue to do what we have been doing.”
