Encampment Lady Tigers Fall Short

Although Thursday evening's game didn't go as hoped, the Lady Tigers worked well together

The Encampment Lady Tigers raced through the 1st set against the Saratoga Lady Panthers on September 15, winning with 25 points to 21. The Lady Tigers had to be feeling confident as they were 3-0 coming into the game and they were playing in front of a home crowd. Unfortunately, in the next three sets, although they fought hard, they fell short of winning. The 2nd set was 25 to 17, the 3rd set 25-16 and 4th set 25-20.

"The girls fought hard in the game against Saratoga. The crowd was loud and made it really exciting, it was a fun atmosphere," Encampment head coach Robin Brown said. "The girls showed so much improvement in just a week's time since our last game. I'm excited to see what this team can do with continued work. We started off really communicating and working together which helped us win the first set. We will continue to work on consistency and endurance, but we played scrappy and tough."

The next game played was the next day against Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) in Baggs. The Lady Rattlers came into the game 8-2 overall and walked out with a 9-2 record. The Lady Rattler are ranked number one in the Southwest Conference having a good season. They were determined not to lose.

They didn't.

The Lady Rattlers tamed the Lady Tigers in three sets. They won the 1st 25-11, the 2nd 25-13 and the last 25-12.

The Lady Tigers need to win the next game and they face Farson-Eden who are 0-5 on Friday. Encampment won the game when the two teams met earlier this year.

LSRV will take on Saratoga on Thursday at 6 pm. At Saratoga.
