LSRV beats Meeteetse in their first game
The Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Rattler High School football team started their season looking like the state champions they were last year in 6-man football as they took on the Meeteetse Longhorns.
Jack Cobb, Head Coach of the Rattlers, had to like what he saw.
The Rattlers rushed for five touchdowns, Hadley Myers, getting three, as the leading scorer and Kannadis Peurolis getting two.
Peroulis was the leading rusher with 101 yards.
Quarterback Zane Matheson passed to Tanner Duncan for a touchdown, the Rattlers scored three conversions and had an interception for a touchdown.
It was Matheson’s only pass of the game, which went 40 yards.
The defense was impenetrable quarter after quarter.
Bridger Cozzens led the game with eight tackles, followed by Ervey Marquez with seven.
At the end of the game, the Rattlers had racked up 48 points to Longhorns nil.
It was a non-conference game and it put the Rattlers at 1-0 and the Longhorns at 0-2.
Cobb knows it is early in the season and many things can happen, but the beginning of 2022 for LSRV is off to a good start.
The next opponent for the Rattlers is the Dubois Rams on September 9 in Dubois.
