Serving the Platte Valley since 1888

This week at the Saratoga Care Center

by Tom Mansfied, Activity Volunteer

The Activity Director and her assistants offered another week of activities both morning and afternoon.

On Monday, residents worked out to Sittercise in the morning and listened to Trivia in the afternoon about occupations and mother nature.

On Tuesday, the morning found residents enjoying the game of hot potato beach ball.  During the game, the residents really laughed when the ball bounced off the top of Susan Sampson’s head and when Carol Clemetson kicked the ball, but her sandal flew off.  In the afternoon, residents participated in Arts and Crafts, painting small mosaic tiles for the Platte Valley Public Art Project mural in Encampment.

On Wednesday, residents came out to the dining room in the morning for the always popular Hair and Nail Care.  The afternoon found residents enjoying Bingo with a chance to win quarters or candy.  Kenny Hoaglund, Sandra Vela, and Ruby Ross won quarters in Regular, Four Corners, and Blackout Bing with Sandra Vela winning three times.  Others won candy.

On Thursday, residents played Tic-Tac-To in the morning, and in the afternoon ice cream parfaits were had by all.

On Friday, residents listened to Today in History, Today’s News, and the Saratoga Sun in the morning.   Bingo happened in the afternoon with residents once more winning a chance to win quarters or candy.  Ruby Ross, Susan Sampson, Carol Clemetson, Jack Loudin, and Kenny Hoaglund won quarters in Regular, Four Corners, and Blackout Bingos.  Others won candy.

On Saturday, residents listened to Music in the dining room in the morning and enjoyed a Social in the afternoon with treats and coffee.

On Sunday, residents watched a movie in the morning.  Vince Vanett of the Alliance Church  led the afternoon service.

The Activity Director and her assistants once again offered and led a great series of activities throughout the week.
