Rattlers race north and south

The Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Rattlers doubled their track meets over the weekend, with one in Wyoming and one in Colorado. LSRV first travelled to Rawlins on Friday to compete in the Nancy Steinberg Invite before traveling south to Rangely, Colorado on Saturday. The Rattlers track and field team had student athletes pre-qualify for the State Track and Field Meet in both meets in different events.

“We had a smaller group in Rawlins due to the art symposium,” said Head Coach Norman Yoast. “Though Kannadis Peroulis qualified in the long jump. “We had three pre-qualifiers in Rangely Colorado: Kannadis Peroulis in the 100 meter dash and triple jump, and Jordy Valles in the 100 meter dash.”

Girls at Rawlins

Skylynn Ready placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.73 seconds. Ready also placed 5th in the 1600 meter with a time of 6 minutes, 53.4 seconds. 

Banesssa Saenz placed 7th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 15.24 seconds. Saenz also placed 5th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute 13.43 seconds and 3rd in the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 5 inches. 

Cashley Criswell placed 5th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.89 seconds and placed 6th in the high jump Criswell with a height of 4 feet 3 inches. 

Catrina Habel placed 6th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 58.55 seconds. She also placed 7th in discus with a distance of 68 feet 3 inches. 

Boys at Rawlins

Kannadis Peroulis took 1st place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.32 seconds. Peroulis also took 1st place in long jump with a distance of 20 feet, 9 inches.

Cale Cheatham placed 6th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.32 seconds. He also placed 3rd in the high jump with a height of 5 feet 4 inches. 

Reilly Erickson placed 14th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 4 seconds. Erickson also placed 8th in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 52.91 seconds. 

Chase McKee placed 9th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 27.8 seconds. 

Mason Davis placed 7th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 40 seconds.

Chis Saenz placed 13th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 7 minutes, 16.57 seconds. Saens also placed 17th in discus with a distance of 75 feet, 1 inch and 17th in shot put with a distance of 30 feet, 3 inches. 

Hadley Myers took 2nd place in the 110 meter  hurdles with a time of 17.75 seconds. Myers also took 2nd place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.13 seconds.

Girls at Rangely

Criswell placed 13th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.19 seconds. In the high jump Criswell placed 10th with a height of 4 feet, 1 inch and she placed 11th in long jump with a distance of 12 feet, 8 inches.

Saenz placed 17th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.75 seconds. She also placed 16th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 31.81 seconds. Saenz placed 7th in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute, 2.79 seconds and in the high jump Saenz placed 7th with a height of 4 feet, 3 inches. 

Ready placed 9th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1 minute, 7.57 seconds. She also placed 5th in the 800 meter dash Ready with a time of 2 minutes, 50.48 seconds.

Habel took 9th place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6 minutes, 55.22 seconds. Habel also took 23rd place in discus with a distance of 63 feet, 5 inches. 

Ellie Gallenbeck placed 20th in the long jump with a distance of 8 feet 11 inches. 

Regina Herrera placed 9th in discus with a distance of 86 feet 6 inches. She also placed 6th in shot put with a distance of 28 feet 11 inches. 

Boys at Rangely

Peroulis placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.85 seconds. He placed 1st in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet, 2 inches. 

Jordy Valles placed 4th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.94 seconds. Valles also placed 6th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.58 seconds. 

Cheatham placed 11th in the 100m hurdles with a time of 12.28 seconds.

Bridger Cozzens placed 19th in the 100 meter dash with a  time of 13.49 seconds. Cozzens also placed 4th in discus  with a distance of 102 feet and half an inch. 

Hunter Jones places 29th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.28 seconds. Jones placed 14th in the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet 7 inches. 

Zane Matheson placed 26th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.11 seconds. Matheson also placed 6th in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 1 inch. 

Mason Davis placed 13th in the 800 meter dash with a time of 2 minutes, 33.86 seconds. 

Chase McKee placed 8th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 33.51 seconds. 

Hadley Myers took 2nd place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 44.04 seconds. 

Mason Jones placed 15th in the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet, 7 inches. 

Jerick Martinez placed 2nd in discus with a distance of 109 feet, 3.5 inches. Martinez also placed 8th in shot put with a distance of 32 feet, 3.5 inches. 

Ervey Marques placed 16th in discus with a distance of 77 feet 9 inches. Marques also placed 13th in shot put with a distance of 29 feet 10 inches. 

Chris Soans placed 19th in discus with a distance of 67 feet 7 inches. Soans also placed 13th in shot put with a distance of 9 feet 10 inches. 

The upcoming meets for the LSRV Rattlers will be Friday in Hayden, Colorado at the Clint Wells Invite, hosted by Moffat County High School and Saturday in Steamboat Spring, Colorado.
