Little Snake River Valley takes small group to Colorado on April 1
The Little Snake River track team slithered into the 2022 Meeker invitational hosted by Meeker High School. LSRV scored a total of 51 points in the meet. Though only 11 athletes were in attendance due to spring break the Rattlers still sunk their fangs into the competition.
“We had a small group due to spring break, but they did well,” said Head Coach Norman Yoast. “Another small group will be participating in next week’s State FFA,” continued coach Yoast.
Hadley Myers leaped over the competition in 2 hurdle events securing 1st place in both. The results of the Meeker invitational are to follow.
Girls Results
Emma Davis threw the discus 48 feet and 9 inches landing in 20th place. Davis also had a distance of 20 feet 6.5 inches in shot put landing in 13th place.
Ellie Gallenbeck had a long jump score of 9 feet 10 inches.
Boys Results
Kannadis Peroulis had a time of 12.17 in the 100 meter dash placing 3rd.
Jordy Valles had a time of 12.19 in the 100 meter dash placing 4th. Valles also had a time of 25.38 in the 200 meter dash placing 4th.
Cale Cheatham had a time of 13.66 in the 100 meter dash placing 21st. Cheatham placed 2nd in the high jump scoring 5 feet 6 inches. Cheatham placed 6th in Long Jump with a score of 17 feet 1.5 inches.
Birdger Cozzens ran a time of 13.76 in the 100 meter dash and placed 22nd.
Zane Matheson had a time of 2:32.11 in the 800 meter run placing 9th. Matheson placed 5th in triple jump with a score of 34 feet 10 inches.
Mason Davis placed 10th in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.87. Davis also placed 10th in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:56.31.
Jumping into hurdles Hadley Myers placed 1st in 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17.75. Myers also placed 1st in 300 meter hurdles with a time of 45.69.
Zane Matheson had a time of 2:32.11 in the 800 meter run placing 9th. Matheson placed 5th in the triple jump scoring 34 feet 10 inches.
Jerick Martinez placed 8th in discus scoring 87 feet 10 inches.
The next track meet for Little Snake River Track Team will be on April 9 at the Ed Schroeder Invite in Rock Springs.
