Lady Rattlers strike thrice

LSRV girls finish 3-0 in Shoshoni over weekend

The Little Snake River Valley Lady Rattlers (LSRV) had an exciting weekend in basketball over December 16. Winning all three games in their line up, the Lady Rattlers sank their teeth into the competition.

“It was a great weekend, anytime you can get three wins it’s a good weekend. Our girls played really hard and we shared the ball so well, on offense it is really fun to watch,” said Head Coach Mark Gillies.

First facing the Riverside Lady Rebels, LSRV won 38-36.

“We had a nine point lead at one point against Riverside and let that slip away, which we got to work on but it was really good to get a close win and get in a situation like that early in the season,” said Gillies.

Next in the tournament battling the Meeteetse Lady Longhorns, the Lady Rattlers came ready to strike. Sinking their fangs into the Lady Longhorns, LSRV won 65-30.

“Against Meeteetse we played really well and our defense really was intense that game,” said Coach GIllies.

In the final game of the tournament, LSRV played the Shoshoni Lady Wranglers.

“In the Shoshoni game you could tell it was our third game of the weekend and second of the day. We played well but we were a step behind on getting some stills and some or our shots were just short because our legs were tired,” said GIllies

Though the team had played hard already, the Lady Rattlers won 51-26, finishing the weekend with three wins.

The next game for the LSRV Lady Rattlers will be January 7 and 8 at the Kemmerer Tournament in Kemmerer, Wyoming.
