Togie grapplers place well

The Lusk Invitational took place December 10 with six teams in attendance. Out of 11 Saratoga Panther wrestlers, seven placed.

“It was a good start to the season, we had some great matches,” said Head Coach Jared Mason

Starting in varsity 106; Skyler Wood placed 6th and scored 3 team points. Kanean Roberts placed 3rd and scored 7 team points in varsity 113. In round 1, Roberts won by fall over Rebekah Anderson (Moorcroft) and in round 5 Roberts won by forfeit over Abrym Heinert (Newell).

Also in varsity 113, freshman Brian Smith placed 1st and scored 17 team points. In round 1, Smith won by fall over Heinert (Newell). In round 2. Smith won by fall over Daimeon Pavone (Niobrara County). In round 3, Smith won by fall over Roberts (also of Saratoga). In round 4, Smith won by major decision over Anderson (Moorcroft).

“It was great to see a freshman come to the floor with that intencity,” said Mason.

In varsity 120, Allyster Ingrham placed 3rd and scored 7 team points. In round 4 Ingraham won by fall over Cade Williams (Moorcroft). In round 5 Allyster Ingraham won by fall over Craig Robinson (Moorcroft).

In varsity 152 Slayd Daley placed 1st and scored 20 team points. In round 1 Daley won by fall over Chris Boardman (Moorcroft). In round 2 Daley won by fall over Gavin Tesch (Newell). In round 3 Daley won by fall over Dakota Tobin (Moorcroft).

In varsity 160 Seven Patrick placed 6th and scored 3 team points. In the Consolation Bracket Patrick won by decision over Cody Taylor (Niobrara County).

In varsity 170, Douglass Campbell placed 3rd and scored 15 team points. In round 1 Douglass Campbell won by fall over Seth Dunn (Sioux County). In round 2 Campbell won by fall over Alijah Pavone (Niobrara County). In the 3rd place match Campbell won by fall over Sterling Norris (Moorcroft).

In varsity 170 Silas Vannett placed 6th and scored 5 team points. In round 3 Vannett received a bye. In the consolation bracket Vannett won by injury default over Seth Dunn (Sioux County)

In varsity 195 Kellen Reeder placed 2nd and scored 4 team points. In round 1 Reeder won by fall over Kevin Stone (Moorcroft)

In varsity 285 Logan Robinson placed 4th and scored 4 team points.

Also in varsity 285 Quade Jordan placed 1st and scored 20 team points. In round 1 Jordan won by fall over Oliver Gorsuch (Moorcroft).In round 2 Jordan won by fall over Colton Niles (Newell). In round 3 Quade Jordan won by fall over Robinson (Saratoga).

The Saratoga Panther wrestlers scored a total of 105 team points at the Lusk Invitational with seven of 11 wrestlers placing and receiving medals. The next wrestling meet will be the Saratoga Triangular in Saratoga at 5:30 p.m. on December 16 at the Saratoga Middle High School.
