Entries for Lighted Christmas Parade due December 11
The annual Lighted Christmas Parade will be held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 11. 2021 theme is a Red, White and Blue Christmas! The parade begins at Constitution Ave. by the Saratoga Care Center and goes down River Street, turning onto Bridge Ave and goes through historic downtown Saratoga. While waiting for the parade to begin, please take advantage of our local retailers and "shop small" this season. The parade ends at the Platte Valley Community Center just in time to welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus at "Winter Wonderland".
Businesses, organizations and individuals are asked to call the chamber at 326-8855 or Judy Hamel at 710-2440 by 5:00 pm Friday, December 10 if they would like to enter in the parade. Line-up will begin at 4:30 pm on Saturday.
The parade announcer and entertainer each year is Teense Willford, creator of this event while he served as the executive director of the Chamber. "Teense has generously donated his time and equipment for the parade and he is emblematic of the true spirit of Christmas. He makes it magical," says Amanda Knotwell, current Chamber director.
Right after the parade, take the kids to Winter Wonderland, sponsored by the Valley Service Organization. The jolly fellow and his lovely wife will be available in Santa's House. Children of all ages can spend a few moments on Santa's lap and share their "wish list". While waiting, everyone is invited to partake in the free chili and hotdogs. Coffee, hot cocoa and cookies will also be served in the splendidly decorated Great Hall at the Platte Valley Community Center.
