Lady Tigers fight through five

Encampment dealt 2-3 loss by Lady Rattlers on Saturday

The Encampment Lady Tigers and the Little Snake River Valley Lady Rattlers faced off in Encampment on September 11. Playing a full five sets, the Ladyu Tigers fought a hard battle.

The Lady Rattlers sunk in their fangs in the 1st set, going 12-25. Not an ideal start but Encapment was quick to bite back in the 2nd set with a score of 25-21.

The match started fast and never slowed down. With quite the crowd for both teams, the gym was alive with the echoes of chants and cheers.

LSRV was quick to come back with a response of 15-25 in the 3rd set. The Lady Tigers fought through to win the 4th set 25-20.

With both teams taking two sets, the excitement in the gym was noticeable with standing ovations for almost every point scored in the 5th set. Though the match was won by LSRV, the Lady Tigers showed their heart and teamwork.

Head Coach Robin Brown said, "I had several girls, particularly Cora Schroeder and Allison Bromley, that really stepped into the leadership role. They focused on team control, specific feedback and bringing energy to the court. The team has been working really hard on their court presence and energy. We really did see this throughout the whole set. Even though it didn't end the way we wished it would have, we showed growth in our skills and communication."

The Lady Tigers will be home and away for the upcoming weekend's volleyball games. On September 17, the Lady Tigers travel to Rock River to face the Lady Longhorns. The very next morning, they host the Farson/Eden Lady Pronghorns at 10 a.m. in the Encampment K-12 gym.
