Evelyn Ruth Patzer
Born April 10, 1933 in Hotchkiss, CO to the late Perry & Mattie Reed.
Passed into eternity August 20, age 88.
Ruth was a strong and faithful woman. Being the fourth of eight children, she grew up working hard at a young age. She loved Jesus and her husband, Slim, who she followed all over the Western United States over their 68 years of marriage. They were married when she was 19 and moved over 30 times, living in cow camps and ranch homes. She raised six children through hardships and peace, cooking for ranch hands and welcoming anyone who needed a meal.
Ruth was baptized by her father in 1990. Though she was raised with God in her life, her deep relationship with Jesus really began at this time. She attended the Foothills Baptist Church in Encampment for over 25 years. Ruth was a prayer warrior, praying faithfully for her children, grand & great-grandchildren. But she didn't stop there, she continued to pray for our country and the millions of children less fortunate in our perilous times. At her passing, she was closer to the Lord than she had ever been. She fought the good fight and finished her race.
She is survived by her 6 children, Wes, Buddy, Wilson, Warden, Nesta and Jenny. 16 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
