Doris Rae Davis went home to meet our Heavenly Father and to be reunited with her beloved husband Fred on Monday June 8, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Ruben and Elsie Bushweiler, brothers Lyle and Leslie Bushweiler, sister Lillian "Toots" Dahlgren, and son David Davis.
She is survived by her children Dawn (Melvin) Mattner, Clifford Davis and Gerald (Brenda) Davis, grandchildren: Brandy (Tim) Panek, Dana (Keith Schricker) Davis, Hollie Honey, Kristopher (Jennie) Davis, Kasey (John) Cary, Susan Davis, Nicole (Richard) Anderson and Lindsay Davis, great-grandchildren; Courtney and Ashley Panek, Haley and Sophia Werkheiser, Kyle, Kooper and Kaylee Davis, Alex Julka, Brayden Cary, Presley and Whittley Anderson, great-great-grandchildren; Brooklyn & Kayden Panek.
Doris was born July 15, 1927 in Waukesha Wisconsin. Her family moved to Mole Lake Wisconsin where she attended and graduated from Crandon High School in 1945 where Doris was the first female pitcher on an all male baseball team.
Doris married Frederick Davis and raised their children in Mole Lake, Wisconsin until the early 1970's when the family moved to Saratoga, Wyoming. Doris always recalled in awe seeing mountains for the first time. When crossing the Snowy Mountain Range, she thought it was so divine that if you didn't believe in God, you would upon experiencing the beauty of the Lake Marie. An area which remained one of her favorite locations to visit.
Doris loved her family, friends and community. She was known for her volunteerism as a pianist, teacher of arts and crafts at the Saratoga Care Center as well as ministering to the residents. Dois provided the world best hugs and genuinely cared about all she met.
Doris will be missed by all who's lives she touched which were many.
She was laid to rest Saturday June 12, 2021 at the Saratoga Cemetery, services were held at the Platte Valley Christian Center.
