Saratoga boys take down Vikings by nearly 50 points on return to hardwood
The Saratoga Panthers came out with a win this weekend in their first game since returning from a quarantine that forced them to reschedule two conference games against the Cokeville Panthers and the Farson-Eden Pronghorns.
On Friday, Saratoga travelled to Guernsey-Sunrise where they plundered the hosting Vikings for a nearly 50 point win to announce their return to the hardwood.
Jason Williams, head coach of the Saratoga Panthers, was quite pleased with his team and their performance.
“I wasn’t sure how things would go after such a long down-time, but I thought we moved the ball well and executed well on offense,” said Williams. “It was a good game to play after quarantine. We still have a lot to work on but, overall, I was pleased with how the boys game came out.”
Senior Teegan Love led the Panthers with 23 points against the Vikings and was followed by sophomore Grant Bartlett with 11 points and senior Noah Rimmer with 10 points. Senior Gavin Bartlett scored 6 points against Guernsey-Sunrise while twin brother Grady Bartlett and Geoffrey Johnson each scored 4 points. Senior Erik Pinedo contributed to the team win with 2 points.
The final score was 64-15.
Saratoga will have hosted the Little Snake River Valley (LSRV) Rattlers (1-6, 0-2) on February 2.
