Chamber kudos

Dear Editor,

It has been six years since I attended an ice fishing derby. This year I volunteered to help with registration Saturday morning. With Stacy Crimmins being the director for so many years, you expect to see a few glitches for a first timer. Leanna Jones was a true champion. With all of the events being cancelled in recent months COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on her first year as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce. I have only met Leanna a few times, but I have been impressed with her professionalism. Saturday, she was busy registering people outside of the tent while making sure everyone had what they needed. At times it was very busy, especially with people registering and people coming in to weigh their fish. She took suggestions easily and kept the line moving. She had big shoes to fill and I believe she did it well. I forgot how much fun the Ice Fishing Derby was and had a good time while volunteering. I hope the Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce board knows how lucky they are to have a young, enthusiastic person to fill the big shoes Stacy left behind.
