Three senior netters recognized for fourth consecutive year

"What is neat about the three girls All-Conference award, is that this is the fourth year for receiving this honor," Hanna, Elk Mountain, Medicine Bow (HEM) High School head volleyball coach Jackie Jones said. "That is huge. To be All-Conference as a freshman and carry it on to your senior year–unanimous selection every year–speaks volumes about who they are as players and as humans."
Jones was also proud of Amy Campbell who won All-State honors and 1A player of the year, for the third time in a row.
"She was also named player of the year for the Southeast Conference for the third time in a row," Jones said. "With that award, there is a All-Star game this summer, which has a north team and a south team, in each classification, 1A to 4A, Amy's award gives her an automatic bid. Amy is the 1A automatic bid for the All-Star game."
Jones said Amy is looking to continue playing volleyball or basketball in the future and this honor helps her with this goal.
"I am extremely proud to play with this team because they always watch out for me," Amy said. "We always watch out for each other."
She was happy to be named player of the year for a third time
"I was a little surprised, but as I look back, I know I earned it, so I am proud of the achievement," Amy said. "I am grateful to have played with this amazing team and have such an amazing coach."
Amy's twin sister, Madison, also enjoyed receiving the honor.
"It feels really good getting the recognition, because it shows hard work does pay off," Madison said.
She said her award is because the team supports each other.
"We come together collectively as a team and we see each other as a family, so if it is a win or loss, we all work together to keep our heads up," said Madison, who was the setter for the team. "As a setter, sometimes you find yourself having to calm down and tell yourself, 'you got this' and contribute where you can. I am really proud of the girls and what we have accomplished."
Taylar Scott was the other All-Conference player chosen by coaches.
"I feel really honored being named four years in a row," Scott said. "I also feel really blessed to have the team that we had and honestly, it isn't a team, it is a family."
It is a family that wins awards.
