Saratoga looking forward to next game

Panthers face Rocky Mountain on Friday

The Saratoga Panthers did not end up on the winning side of their encounter with Niobrara County Tigers but Panther Head Coach Logan Wright was still happy with his team. The Panthers lost 22-48.

The game was not dominated by the Tigers from Lusk, although they ended up with more points.

“Physically, we played right with them,” Wright said. “We left a lot of points out there and weren’t able to finish in the red zone.”

Wright felt the Panthers were in contention as the quarters played on.

“It was a close game that slipped away,” Wright said. “Lusk is a powerhouse team with strong, big, physical players.”

The Panthers have strong, physical players with Noah Rimmer, Teegan Love and Zack Standard but the Tigers have been beating teams throughout the season to have an overall record of 6-2 and conference record of 5-1.

The Panthers are 3-4 overall and 2-4 in conference play. Saratoga is in the playoffs. Their first year playing nine-man.

“We are looking forward to playoffs and we’ll prepare the best we can to give the seniors a game to remember,” Wright said.

The Panthers will face the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies on October 30 in Cowley. The Grizzlies are 6-0 overall and 4-0 in conference.
