Ryan Duncan Williams-Treat, 38, of Frederick County, Virginia died Sunday, October 18, 2020 at his home.
Ryan was born in 1982 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, son of Kelli Jo Fish (Danny) and Earl Larue Treat (Gerri). He was a veteran of the United States Navy and was employed through the Federal Government with the US Navy. Ryan was a member of the VFW in Knoxville, Pennsylvania, a member of the Knoxville Fire Hall and a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge in Pennsylvania.
Ryan lived in Johnstown most of his life, attending RE5J schools where he was active in both football and baseball before joining the Navy in 2003 where he received many awards. He worked with his grandfather and uncles at AGR Fencing in Wyoming before pursuing a degree in welding. He moved to Virginia in 2018 where he could put his skills to use.
Ryan enjoyed playing sports, being with family, the mountains of Wyoming, talking with his dad about farming ready to step in and help when the need arose. Ryan was someone always there to help anyone who asked him. His heart was bigger than the mountains he loved. He was always ready with a story to make you laugh, an adventure to go on, a hug to ease any sadness you were dealing with and defend any underdog he met.
Along with his parents and step-parents, Ryan is survived by sisters, Ashlie Flint (Brody) of Woodhull, New York and Jessica Scheske (Trent) of Firestone, Colorado; brothers, Russell Burns of Stephens City, Virginia, Kolby Treat of Columbus, Ohio, Brent Treat of Johnstown, Colorado, and Edward Fish of Addison, New York; maternal grandparents, Duncan and Dianne Williams; and paternal grandmother, Mary Norma Treat.
Ryan was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Andrew Claude Treat.
A memorial service will be held in May 2021.
