Serving the Platte Valley since 1888
Chamber of Commerce encourages businesses and children to participate safely
It's time for the annual Halloween Walk! This year, the walk will take place Thursday, October 29th, from 3:30p.m.- 5p.m. to coincide with other school events. For added safety this year, Saratoga/Platte Valley Chamber of Commerce CEO, Leanna Jones has encouraged the participating businesses to set up outside to eliminate gathering and many businesses are participating in trunk-or-treat at the Saratoga Auto Glass Parking lot with the American Legion.
Businesses are also encouraged to wear gloves and hand candy to the kids (vs. having many kids' hands in one bowl of treats) and masks are also recommended. For the children, social distancing is recommended; if there is crowding in front of a business, please wait your turn. Masks are recommended for the children as well. What's new–The Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Saratoga Sun to add a costume contest this year!
The kids that want to enter will have their pictures taken in front of the Saratoga Sun office during the walk, and the winner will determined by People's Choice Vote on Facebook & the winners will be printed in the paper the following Wednesday! Categories they can enter; Best Duo Costume, Punniest Costume and Spookiest Costume. We are pleased to be able to arrange the Halloween Walk this year with the health and safety of all involved in mind.
