Carbon Power & Light announces new service rebate program

First 100 permanent new electric services are eligible for the rebate program

Members of Carbon Power & Light Inc. in 2020 will be eligible to receive electric services under a new rebate program that will extend significant benefits for line extension costs, the cooperative announced today.

At its May 11 meeting, Carbon Power & Light’s board of directors approved the new electric service rebate program for 2020, applicable to the first 100 permanent new electric services installed this year. Upon completion of the new services, members would be eligible for up to $10,000 in rebates toward their line extension costs.

“Since 1941, Carbon Power & Light has sought to provide reliable electric service to its members, with a focus on high-quality customer service,” said Russell Waldner, Carbon Power & Light manager. “This rebate program is an example of our continuing efforts to provide innovation and quality services for our members during this difficult economic time.”

Carbon Power & Light noted that members will be eligible for the new rebate program once electric service is connected and ready for use. Upon the connection date of the permanent new electric service, the new electric service rebate will be applied to the account or a check will be sent to the member, in the amount of the construction deposit paid by the account holder.

Payments for the new program are expected to begin after June 1.

The only change to the current process for a permanent new electric service is that in order to qualify for the permanent new electric service rebate, a 5-year contract for electric service will be required. Contact Carbon’s engineering department at (307) 326-5206 to start the process for permanent new electric service and to claim the rebate.
